MPS’S RUBRIC FOR HARASSMENT AND BULLYING2013

In order to prevent bullying, Modish Public School staff will respond to bullying behaviors regardless of intent.  Besides having the potential to cause harm, bullying behavior is inappropriate at school.

  • Loss of privilege may include the following:
    • Isolation in classroom – Students will get all assignments from teachers first thing that morning.  Student remains with the designated teacher all day except for going to his or her designated related arts.  Related Arts teachers will have a quiet area for student.
    • Student will have an isolated lunch either in the cafeteria or in the classroom. 
  • Actions that occur prior to 12:30 PM will result in isolation that day.
  • Actions that occur after 12:30 PM will result in isolation the next day.
  • Any consequences effecting extracurricular activities will be under the discretion of the administrator.

ANY ACTION THAT IS THREATENING OR DISRESPECTFUL TO THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WARRANTS AN AUTOMATIC OFFICE REFERRAL.

On _________________________________________, this student_______________________________________ received a referral to the office for a bullying behavior incident.  MPS administration & counseling staff have reviewed the incident with student. The student has been made aware of the seriousness of this behavior and has been reminded of the MPS Bullying Policy.  This policy includes the overarching goal of DuPont Tyler Middle School to prevent bullying and to create and maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students. The student’s behavior has been referenced according to the Bullying Rubric on this form.   This Bullying Rubric will be placed in the student’s personnel file for the remainder of his or her attendance at DTMS but will not be placed in the student’s permanent cumulative record.
